Musical Table
I designed and built this table with a musical theme. The table top includes a musical staff done using wenge to represent the outer form and the separation between measures and zebrawood to represent internal lines. The woods I used for the construction are Wenge, Cherry, Maple and Zebrawood. The hinges were also hand-made. The box at the bottom was designed to hold our piano books and it is completely made out of solid wood. The rails on the legs allow the wood of the box to expand sideways in order to accomodate wood expansion and contraction.
This table was exhibited at the Del Mar Fair in 2008 and won a first place in its category. It was also exhibited at the Palomar College Library in 2008.

Wooden Clock
I designed and built this clock using cherry and walnut for the body and cocobolo for the hands of the clock. The main box as well as the drawers are dovetailed. Walnut legs keep this clock off the floor and add to the modern look. The face of the clock was made with cherry for the disk with embedded walnut dots, cocobolo for the hands and a stem shaped to follow the grain of the wood using walnut.
This clock was exhibited at the Del Mar Fair in 2008 and won a first place in its category and the best of class award.
